Dr Chris Pritchard returned to the role of SMC Chair (in an acting capacity) in October 2025 having served as Chair for over five years to 2019. He is also the Production Editor of the SMC Journals, having held the post of Editor-in Chief previously for 18 years. He was the SMC Achievement Award winner in 2024. Chris is also the Secretary of the James Clerk Maxwell Foundation in Edinburgh and the lead editor of its journal The Maxwellian.
