We are pleased to report that Prof. Jonathan Fraser, of the University of St Andrews, has been awarded the Sir Edmund Whittaker Memorial Prize for 2023 by the Edinburgh Mathematical Society. This award is periodically awarded to an outstanding early-career mathematician having a specified connection with Scotland.
Prof. Fraser, who has sat on the SMC for almost four years, has research interests in the mathematics of fractals and is a strong voice for promoting the appreciation of mathematics at all levels.
